|Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and
religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.
On Today's Theme:
It's always a good idea to go into the new day, the new week, or a new direction with a solid
intention in your heart. It eliminates much useless wandering of the mind and energy during
the course of your day. So before you "Seize the day," greet the day with prayer.

O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day in peace, help me in all things to rely
upon your holy will. In every hour of the day reveal your will to me. Bless my
dealings with all who surround me. Teach me to treat all that comes to me through-
out the day with peace of soul and with firm conviction that your will governs all.
In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all are sent by you. Teach me to act
firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others. Give me strength
to bear the fatigue of the coming day with all that it shall bring. Direct my will,
teach me to pray. And you, yourself, pray in me. Amen.

Lord, when I awake in silence
I can lie in my bed and listen
It is my time to be quiet in my awakening
In the quiet of my silence,
Before the sounds of the day engulf me
It is my time to listen
So speak to me in the morning, dear Lord
Tell me how to serve today
Tell me for whom I should pray
Tell me what songs to sing
And I will rise in prayer and song
To praise you all day long

Almighty God, we bless and praise Thee that we have wakened to the light
of another earthly day; and now we will think of what a day should be.
Our days are Thine, let them be spent for Thee. Our days are few, let them
be spent with care. We pray Thee to shine on this day--the day which
we may call our own.
Lord, we go to our daily work; help us to take pleasure therein. Show us clearly
what our duty is; help us to be faithful in doing it. Let all we do be well done,
fit for Thine eye to see. Give us strength to do, patience to bear; let
our courage never fail.
When we cannot love our work, let us think of it as Thy task; and by our
true love to Thee, make unlovely things shine in the light of Thy great love.
The Last Word:
O God! I awaken, go to sleep, live and die by You and
to You is the final gathering. I have awakened and the
morning has come with the Dominion belonging to God.
All praise is due to God, there is no partner with Him,
there is none worthy of worship besides Him,
and to Him is the final gathering.
Grace is getting something that you don't deserve;
and mercy is not getting something that you do deserve.
