Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

On Today's Theme:

I think that, for those who hear Divinity's heartbeat, life is full of wonder.
It is truly wonder-full. Which is not to say that everything goes just like
we want it to. I suppose that's the definition of life challenges...things that
didn't go the way we expected them to. It's during those times that
I find extra comfort in three aspects, three constants of my life:

1) Purpose: God's ways are not necessarily my ways, but His purpose
is my purpose, because I know His love for me makes Him my All.

2) Renewal: Regeneration is manifest all around us, in nature's growth,
in the rising of each morning sun, in the birth of each child, and in our
endless ability to learn and grow and be made whole.

3) Destiny: The trust that our destiny is Love made manifest. And that
concept is so beautiful that no matter what, life is profoundly wonderful.

O God,

We thank you for this earth, our home;
for the wide sky and the blessed sun,
for the ocean and streams,
for the towering hills and the whispering wind,
for the trees and green grass.

We thank you for our senses by which we hear the songs of birds,
and see the splendor of fields of golden wheat,
and taste autumn's fruit
rejoice in the feel of snow,
and smell the breath of spring flowers.

Grant us a heart opened wide to all this beauty;
and save us from being so blind that we pass unseeing
when even the common thornbush is aflame with your glory.

For each new dawn is filled with infinite possibilities
for new beginnings and new discoveries.
Life is constantly changing and renewing itself.

In this new day of new beginnings with God,
all things are possible.
We are restored and renewed in a joyous awakening
to the wonder that our lives are and, yet, can be.

Amen.

Yes, worship of the loving God is man's whole reason for
existence. That is why we are born and that is why we are
born again from above. That is why we were created and re-
created. That is why there was a genesis at the beginning
regenesis, called re-generation.

A. W. Tozer (1897-1963)
American Protestant pastor, author, speaker

________

Some day, after mastering the winds, the waves,  the
tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies
of love, and then, for a second time in the history of
the world, man will have discovered fire.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955)
Jesuit priest, author and paleontologist

And now,
The Last Word:

You are a child of the Universe, no less
than the moon and the stars; you have a
right to be here. And whether or not it is
clear to you, no doubt the Universe
is unfolding as it should.

Max Ehrmann (1872-1945)
Indiana attorney; author of Desiderata

Bonus Quote:

Alice said to Cheshire Cat, "Would you tell me please which way I ought to go from here?"
Cheshire Cat said,  "That depends where you want to get to."
Alice responded, "I don't much care where."
Cheshire Cat then replied, "Then it doesn't matter which way you go."

From "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll
