I will come to you in the silence,
I will lift you from all your fear.
You will hear my voice,
I claim you as my choice,
be still, and know I am here.

Do not be afraid, I am with you.
I have called you each by name.
Come and follow me,
I will bring you home;
I love you and you are mine.

Verse 1 and Refrain from "You Are Mine,"
Lyrics by David Haas
G.I.A. Publications, Inc., 1991

_______________

When you pass through water, I am with you;
through rivers, they will not wash you away;
when you walk through fire, you will not be singed,
and no flame will burn you.
For I am Hashem your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior...

Isaiah 43: 2-3

You can depend on (God). He is "the same
yesterday and today and forever" (Heb. 13:8 ESV).
And because he is the Lord, "He will be the
stability of your times" (Isa. 33:6 NASB)

Trust him. "But when I am afraid, I put my trust
in you" (Ps. 56:3). Join with Isaiah, who resolved,
"I will trust in him and not be afraid." (Isa. 12:2).

...There now, don't you feel
safer knowing he is in control?

___________

Fear arises from desire, but dissolves of its own accord
when you stand firm and bear it with impartiality.

The Buddha (c. 563 - c. 483 BC)

Don't take the world and its darkness so seriously --
it is not as real as it feigns to be. It is only a creation
and it is being re-created out of absolutely nothing at
every moment. The only thing real about it is its
purpose of being -- that you should purify it.

Captivity begins by believing that you are small and the world is big.

Once you believe that, next you are likely to believe it will step on
you, and you fear it.

And then you come to obey it, then to run after it. And then you are
its slave, thirsting for water for the soul but not even able to
remember where to look for it.

To fear the world is to deny the Oneness of its Creator.

___________

Don't look forward in fear; look backward in appreciation. God's
proof is God's past. Forgetfulness sires fearfulness, but a good
memory makes for a good heart...A glimpse into the past
generates strength for the future.

Your part is prayer and gratitude.

God's part? Peace and protection.

Excerpted from "Come Thirsty,"
by Max Lucado

And now, the Last Word:

...God, make me brave, life brings
such blinding things.
Help me to keep my sight;
Help me to see aright
That out of dark comes light.

Bonus quote:

May your joys be as bright as the morning, and your sorrows merely be shadows
that fade in the sunlight of love. May you have enough happiness to keep you sweet,
enough trials to keep you human, enough hope to keep you happy.
