Blessed is the man who walks not in the
counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the
seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the
law of the Lord, and on his law he
meditates day and night.

He is like a tree planted by streams of
water, that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither. In all that
he does, he prospers.

The wicked are not so, but are like
chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand
in the judgement, nor sinners in the
congregation of the righteous; for the
Lord knows the way of the righteous;
but the way of the wicked will perish.

Psalm 1
Holy Bible
Revised Standard Edition
I know now that I am a lion of cosmic power. Bleating no more, I shake the error forest
with reverberations of Thine almighty voice. In divine freedom I bound through the
jungle of earthly delusions, devouring the little creatures of vexing worries and timidities,
and the wild hyenas of disbelief.

O Lion of Liberation, ever send through me Thy roar of all-conquering courage.

Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952)
Yogi and founder of Self-Realization Fellowship
Many of you are aware of how devastated we were to lose our dear Standard
Poodle, Jack, in June. So I thought you'd enjoy meeting the newest Bowman.
His name is Tex. He's an apricot Standard...and we suspect he's going to the
be the size of a small horse!
Today, Thursday the 26th, our team of five will travel into Kabul, Afghanistan to facilitate a prayer initiative for the
international humanitarian community until Saturday the 28th. In recent months, they have seen their staff killed
and operations hampered by a strongly resurging Taliban force that has adopted the tactics of suicide bombing,
beheading and other atrocities from the Iraq conflict. World Vision, my own organization, has lost four of our Afghan
staff. The Taliban backed by their Al Qaida supporters in Pakistan are doing everything they can to destabilize the
government and to kill anyone who is related to the coalition military forces or the humanitarian organizations.
Afghanistan needs a big breakthrough in this situation. Will you please join us in believing prayer as the Spirit of
the Lord leads you?

Prayer requests:
1.  That the Taliban, Al Qaida and drug cartels' alliance to regain control of the nation through violence and
destruction will be broken and that they will be thrown into confusion and be driven out of both Afghanistan and
Pakistan. As the Psalmist writes, may God break the arm of the wicked.

2.  That the spiritual powers of death and violence that are invoked through folk Islamic practices of divination and
occult covenants will be disempowered, bound and driven out to the place God consigns them to go (Matthew 3:27,
18:18, Luke 10:19f).

3.  That a movement of united, ongoing transformational prayer (24/7) will arise in both Afghanistan and Pakistan
that the Lord can use to bring the changes so desperately needed in these countries in every sphere of  society.

4.  His anointing, unity, guidance, discernment, love, power and protection for our team and all those participating.

Your prayer support will be vitally important to the success of this initiative and will be deeply appreciated. Please
join us in trusting the Lord for a big breakthrough in Afghanistan!

Warm greetings from the team and me,
John Robb
    Dear Friends,
This is the most recent message from John Robb of the International Prayer Council. He travels the world in order
to pray with others for peace. Earlier this week he and his group were in India. They've now moved on to Afghanistan.
If you feel so moved, you may aid the group's cause by adding your prayers to theirs.
(Note: This list is a slight abbreviation of  the original list of prayer requests.--Editor)

Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should shadows fall?
Why should my heart feel lonely
and long for heaven and home?

A constant friend is he.

I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free.

Live each present moment completely and the future will take care
of itself. Fully enjoy the wonder and beauty of each instant.
Practice the presence of peace. The more you do that, the more
you will feel the presence of that power in your life.

Paramahansa Yogananda
Fearlessness means faith in God; faith in His protection, His
justice, His wisdom, His mercy, His love, and His omnipotence.

Paramahansa Yogananda
Develop the mind of equilibrium.
You will always be getting praise and blame,
but do not let either affect the poise of the mind:
follow the calmness, the absence of pride.

Sutta Nipata (Buddhist)
Part of the Tripitaka canon
For in truth, my words are not false; (God) is perfect in His knowledge of you. Behold, God is
mighty and does not despise; and He is mighty in the strength of his heart. He will not keep
the wicked alive; He will grant justice to the poor. He will not remove His eyes from a
righteous man until he is on the throne with king; He will seat them (there) forever and they
will become exalted.

It they will listen and serve (Him), then they will finish their days in goodness and their years
in pleasantness.
