|Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and
religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.
On Today's Theme:
Wisdom has very little to do with the acquisition of knowledge. Wisdom, rather than
knowledge, is an actual state of holiness, for she was created by God and is thereby
imbued with grace and strength and healing; beauty, discretion and righteousness.
In fact, you'll notice in today's reading from Proverbs that wisdom was created even
before the earth was created -- another way of saying that she is intrinsically and
eternally holy. We must therefore, prayerfully ask Him if we desire wisdom.
- Lisa Bowman
I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
And find out knowledge and discretion.
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
and the perverse mouth I hate.
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom;
I am understanding, I have strength.
...I love those who love me,
And those who seek me diligently will find me.
Riches and honor are with me,
Enduring riches and righteousness.
My fruit is better than gold; yes, than fine gold,
And my revenue than choice silver.
I traverse the way of righteousness,
In the midst of the paths of justice,
That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth,
That I may fill their treasuries.
The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way,
Before His works of old.
I have been established from everlasting,
From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.
