Bonus quote: This is what you shall do: Love the earth and
sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to everyone
that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your
income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not

The Weekend Edition
      SALUTATION TO THE DAWN

    LOOK TO THIS DAY!
    FOR IT IS LIFE, THE VERY LIFE OF LIFE.
    IN ITS BRIEF COURSE
    LIES ALL THE VERITIES AND REALITIES OF YOUR EXISTENCE;
    THE BLISS OF GROWTH;
    THE GLORY OF ACTION;
    THE SPLENDOR OF ACHIEVEMENT;
    FOR YESTERDAY IS BUT A DREAM,
    AND TOMORROW IS ONLY A VISION; BUT TODAY, WELL
    LIVED, MAKES EVERY YESTERDAY
    A DREAM A HAPPINESS
    AND EVERY TOMORROW A VISION OF HOPE.

Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go into them,
and I will praise the LORD;
this gate of the LORD,
into which the righteous shall enter.

I will praise Thee,
for Thou hast heard me
and art become my salvation.

The stone which the builders refused
has become the head stone of the corner.
This is the LORD'S doing;
it is marvelous in our eyes.

This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:19-25
21st Century King James Version

O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day in peace, help
me in all things to rely upon your holy will. In every hour
of the day reveal your will to me. Bless my dealings with
all who surround me. Teach me to treat all that comes to
me throughout the day with peace of soul and with firm
conviction that your will governs all. In all my deeds and
words, guide my thoughts and feelings. In unforeseen
events, let me not forget that all are sent by you. Teach
me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and
embarrassing others. Give me strength to bear the fatigue
of the coming day with all that it shall bring. Direct my
will, teach me to pray. And yourself, pray in me. Amen.

May the Great Mystery make sunrise in your heart.

Sioux Indian saying
LIVING PAGES

Let me leave margins of silence
around the activities of the day,
letting You write down there
whatever it is You would say.

Then looking backward, I find,
no matter how much I revise,
it is in your footnotes
that the heart of my life lies.

And forget not that the earth delights to feel your
bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.

Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931)

Glance at the sun. See the moon and stars.
Gaze at the beauty of the green earth. Now think.

Hildegard of Bingen ( 1098-1179)

O God, Creator of Light:
   at the rising
of your sun this morning,
let the greatest of all light,
   your love,
rise like the sun within our hearts.
Amen.

Armenian Apostolic Church
Dear Readers, I received this after I'd already published this page, but it's so important I had to add it in. This was
sent to me by one of The Religion Network's subscribers. Please pray.

This is from Higher Ground Baptist Church (Kingsport, TN). Please pray.

We have a young couple in our church, David and Christina Kristynik.  David is in Iraq and
due to be sent back to the states in three  weeks. He called Christina this morning at 9:30 am
(our time) to say goodbye to her and their children (they have a 2 yr old and a ten month
old). He and his group will be leaving at 4 pm today (our time) on foot to go into Baghdad...
no vehicles or tanks will be taken. Their mission will last 2 or 3 days and the purpose is to
go door to door and capture all snipers in the city. The commanders have told the men what
a dangerous mission this is and it is very likely that most will not come back to their base.
Christina is terrified and called on everyone in our church to pray. She said the men are also
fearful. They were all told to call their families before they leave.

    I'm asking each of you to pray for these men and women for the next 3
    days. If your church has a prayer chain, PLEASE call and ask them to pray.

Thank you.
