Dear Readers,

The air around us is thick with angels, who praise
the Lord and await His commands. They are un-
emcumbered by natural laws, personal aspirations
and debilitating emotions. Holy messengers from
the Father/Mother, they whisper wisdom into our
hearts and protect us, His children, from evil.

With what glorious power they are imbued.

glory of angels painting
"Glory of Angels"    Gaudenzio Ferrari

...If you believe in God's word,
you have to believe in angels...

You need an adjective to describe
angels? Start with many.

Continue with mighty...Angels pack dynamic
force. It took only one angel to slay the
firstborn of Egypt and only one angel to
close the mouths of the lions to protect
Daniel. David called angels "mighty crea-
tures who carry out his plans, listening
for each of his commands" (Ps. 103:20).

No need for you to talk to angels; they
won't listen. Their ears incline only to
God's voice. They are "spirits who serve
God" (Heb. 1:14 NCV), responding to his
command and following only his directions.

For every force charged by God, may He be exalted,
with some business is an angel put in charge...

Maimonides (1135-1204)
Jewish philosopher, physician, Torah scholar

_________

An angel can illume the thought and mind of man
by strengthening the power of vision, and by
bringing within his reach some truth which
the angel himself contemplates.

Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274)
Dominican priest, philosopher, scholar

Angels have no agenda of their own.
Every message they bring to us
comes from God.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those
who fear him, and he delivers them.

Psalm 34:7
The Holy Bible
New International Version

_________

Around the throne of God a band
Of glorious angels ever stand,
Bright things they see sweet harps they hold,
And on their heads are crowns of gold.

Some wait around Him, ready still
To sing His praise and do His will,
And some, when He commands them, go
To guard His servants here below.

Lord, give Thy Angels every day
Command to guide us on our way.
And bid them every evening keep
Their watch around us while we sleep.

So shall no wicked thing draw near,
To do us harm or cause us fear;
And we shall dwell, when life is past,
With angels round Thy Throne at last.

John M. Neale (1818-1896)
English Anglican priest, scholar, hymn-writer

The Last Word:

The angels keep their ancient places--
Turn but a stone and start a wing!
'Tis ye, 'tis your estranged faces,
That miss the many-splendored thing.

Francis Thompson (1859-1907)
English poet
