Welcome To The Religion Network!

WELCOME! I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing daily inspiration, quotes and religious resources. Faith and religion are precious gifts that bless.
However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let us meet regularly and build
a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

O afflicted, storm-tossed one, who has not been consoled:
Behold, I will set down gems as your (flooring) stones
and lay your foundation with sapphires. I will set your
window (frames) with ruby and (make) your gates of
carbuncle stones, and your entire boundary of precious
stones. All your children will be students of HASHEM,
and your children's peace will be abundant. Establish
yourself through righteousness, distance yourself from
oppression, for you need not fear it, and from
devastation, for it will not come near you.

This is the heritage of the servants of HASHEM,
and their righteousness from Me - the word of HASHEM.

Isaiah 54: 11-14, 17

________________

The divine calls us all into being out of itself. We are
meant for it: That is the point of the spiritual journey.
The journey puts us on the road to realizing and
actualizing who we really are in our ultimate being.

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and
and foreigners, but fellow apostles with the saints
and members of the household of God, having been
built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in
whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows
into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being
built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Ephesians 2: 19-22
Holy Bible, King James Version

_____________

Our God's undeserved favor toward you and me
is great -- in fact, infinite. He has not only invited
you to His table and adopted you into His very
household circle, He has deposited the awesome,
unspeakably glorious righteousness of His own Son
into your account! Praise Him today for His
kindness and grace.

He who penetrates the great universal
harmony keeps himself withdrawn like one
who is drunk from a noble wine and lies
down with benevolent feelings. He moves
in this immeasurable harmony as if he
had never left the ground of the
creation of beings...

This is the action of the holy man.
He moves toward the perfect void.
He walks with his heart in the
unconditional No. He strides out
of all space. He takes his way
where there is no door. He hears
what has no sound. He sees what has
no form. He does not cling to time.
...Thus he moves the world.

From the Book of Wen-Tse
(Taoism)

____________

THE VALLEY OF KNOWLEDGE

When the sun of knowledge beams from
the vault of this path, which cannot
be described in terms worthy of it,...
the mystery of the being of things appears
with clarity, and the fiery furnace of the
world becomes a flower garden. The wanderer
will see the almond beneath its shell...

The visible world and the invisible world
are nothing to the soul; the body is not
hidden from the soul, nor the soul from the
body. Once you have left the world that is
nothing, you will find a place that is
destined for the human being...

From "The Seven Valleys", taken from "The Conference
of the Birds" by Ferid Eddin Attar (circa 1142-1220)
One of the greatest Sufi poets of Islam
Excerpted from "Ecstatic Confessions," by Martin Buber
Harper & Row, 1985

Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water:
The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken.
Although its light is wide and great, the moon is
reflected even in a puddle an inch wide. The whole
moon and the entire sky are reflected in one
dewdrop on the grass.

Dogen (circa 1200-1253)
Japanese Zen Buddhist teacher and philosopher

And now the Last Word:

For the mountains may be removed
and the hills may shake,
But my lovingkindness will not
be removed from you,
And my covenant of peace
will not be shaken,
Says the Lord who has
compassion on you.

Isaiah 54:10
New American Standard Bible
