Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

LET YOUR LIGHT DAWN IN OUR MINDS

O God, let fear die and conviction be born in our
lives.
Let Your light dawn in our minds as the day
dawns on the earth.
Let us not be so busy hurrying into the future and
worrying about the past that we lose
today -- the only one we have.
God, help us do what we know we have to do
today, and leave tomorrow to You.

Marian Wright Edelman

Excerpted from "Bedside Prayers,"
by June Cotner

_______

This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice in it and be glad.
Lord, grant salvation!
Lord, grant good fortune!

Psalm 118: 24-25
New American Bible

______

To those leaning on the sustaining infinite,
today is big with blessings.

Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910)
Founder of First Church of Christ, Scientist

For hundreds of years, perhaps since the beginning of
Creation, a piece of the of the world has been waiting
for your soul to purify and repair it.

And your soul, from the time it was first emanated
and conceived, waited above to descend to this
world and carry out that mission.

And your footsteps were guided to reach that place.

And you are there now.

You have distinguished Hashem today to be a God
for you, and to walk in His ways, and to observe
His decrees, His commandments, and His statutes,
and to hearken to His voice. And Hashem has dis-
tinguished you today to be for him a treasured
people, as He spoke to you, and to observe all
His commandments, and to make you supreme over
all the nations that He made, for praise,
for renown, and for splendor, and so
that you will be a holy people to
Hashem, your God, as He spoke.

Deuteronomy 26:18-19
The Stone Edition Tanach

We are engaged in building our consciousness during
every waking hour. This work is invisible, silent, and
consequently overlooked by the bulk of mankind.
Nevertheless, it is the most fundamental and the
most far-reaching activity in life.

_______

Life is found only in the present moment. I think we should have
a holiday to celebrate this fact. We have holidays for so many
important occasions -- Christmas, New Year's, Mother's Day,
Father's Day, even Earth Day -- why not celebrate a day when
we can live happily in the present moment all day long?

I would like to declare today "Today's Day," a day dedicated to
touching the Earth, touching the sky, touching the trees, and
touching the peace that is available in the present moment.

Excerpted from "Thich Nhat Hanh: Essential Writings,"
Orbis Books, 2001

And now, the Last Word:

Write it on your heart that today
is the best day of the year.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
Leader of the Transcendentalist movement;
philosopher and poet

To make no mistakes is not in the power of man;
but from their errors and mistakes the wise and
