Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the
everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends
of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is
no searching of his understanding.

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no
might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall
faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fail.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40: 28-31
The Holy Bible
King James Version

Let us pray before we act. Each prayer is our soulful devotion,
and this devotion is our self-illumining life in action...

Action is perfect when it is of God-inspiration and for God manifestation.

...(A)ction for action's sake is not and cannot be the right thing.
Action has to be for God's sake.

Sri Chinmoy (1931-2007)
Indian philosopher, author and guru
From a speech given at the Chapel of the
Church Center for the United Nations, 1976

We are all pencils in the hand of God.

Mother Teresa (1910-1997)
Albanian Roman Catholic nun and humanitarian

Don't waste life in doubts and fears;
spend yourself on the work before you,
well assured that the right performance
of this hour's duties will be the best
preparation for the hours and ages
that will follow it.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
American essayist, philosopher, poet

It is not how much you do but how much Love
you put into the doing that matters.

Mother Teresa (1910-1997)
Albanian Roman Catholic nun and humanitarian

In truth, the world, standing on its own, is a place of exile and captivity.

Even when a man stands upright on the tallest mountain and perceives
all there is to perceive, comprehends all that can be comprehended,
achieves a realization of the Ultimate Oneness and Void
that is behind all this --

But in the end, he is still stuck on the ground where his feet
have brought him, his eyes have not seen beyond his own eyeballs,
his mind has only comprehended that which he can know
and reached that which is reachable --
he has remained within his own self.

And the proof:
he has remained with a G-d Who is above
and an earth which is below, and the two cannot meet.

His only liberation, and the only liberation of the entire world,
is when the One Above reaches down and tells us, "Do this.
With this deed you are betrothed to Me."

And then there is no above and below.
Then there is only One.

And now, the Last Word:

Always do right --
this will gratify some and astonish others.

Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) (1835-1910)
American humorist and writer

Bonus quote:

Life is a pure flame, and we live
by an invisible sun within us.

Sir Thomas Browne (1605-1662)
English author
