Welcome To The Religion Network!
WELCOME! I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing daily inspiration, quotes and religious resources. Faith and religion are precious gifts that bless.
However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let us meet regularly and build
a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off
every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that
does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit
by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit
unless you remain in me.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me
and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you are
nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch
that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked
up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and
my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will
be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear
much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
John 15: 1-8
Holy Bible, King James Version
What words might the Holy Spirit use to open someone
to the truth that their inferiority to God is good news?
Perhaps this: What if we asked someone, "Would you
want to watch a football game where all the players are
no better than you? Or watch a movie where the actors
could act no better than you and were no better looking
than you?" Why are we willing to be exposed in all these
places as utterly inferior? How can we get so much joy
out of watching people magnify their superiority over
us? The biblical answer is that we were made by God
to get our deepest joys not from being superior ourselves
but from enjoying God's superiority...God's superiority is
absolute in every way, which means our joy in it may be
greater than we could ever imagine.

Grandfather, Great Spirit, once more behold me on earth
and lean to hear my feeble voice. You lived first, and you
are older than all need, older than all prayer. All things
belong to you -- the two-legged, the four-legged, the wings
of the air, and all green things that live.
You have set the powers of the four quarters of the earth
to cross each other. You have made me cross the good road
and road of difficulties, and where they cross, the place is holy.
Day in, day out, forevermore, you are the life of things.
Hey! Lean to hear my feeble voice.
At the center of the sacred hoop
You have said that I should make the tree to bloom.
With tears running, O Great Spirit, my Grandfather,
With tears running I must say
The tree has never bloomed.
Here I stand, and the tree is withered.
Again I recall the great vision you gave me.
It may be that some little root of the sacred tree still lives.
Nourish it then
That it may leaf and bloom
And fill with singing birds!
Hear me, that the people may once again
Find the good road
And the shielding tree.

Before I was humiliated I was like a stone that lies
in deep mud, and he who is mighty came and in his
compassion raised me up and exalted me very high
and placed me on the top of the wall.

Will you please pray for Hailey Joy Kent?
Hailey Joy and her twin brother, Ryan, were born to Maria and Rick Kent
six week prematurely in Redlands, California. In October the eight-month-old baby girl was diagnosed with acutelymphocytic leukemia, a rare and difficult disease.
Doctors are working to get her back into remission in order to perform a bone
marrow transplant. Sweet Hailey currently has the flu, which is halting her
chemotherapy. Please support the Kent family with prayers, that they remain strong
and confident in God's love for them and Hailey. May they "run and not be weary."
And may the healing grace of the Lord's love envelope Hailey with warmth and light.
If you'd like to know more about Hailey and how else you can help, please go to

And now the Last Word:
O that every person in this postmodern, self-exalting world
would come to say,"I am totally dependent on God,
and immeasurably less valuable than he is.
And this is the beginning of my joy.
Among the great things which are to be found
among us, the Being of Nothingness is the greatest.
