WELCOME! I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing daily inspiration, quotes and religious resources. Faith and religion are precious gifts that bless.

Lord, in the quiet of this morning hour,
I come to Thee for peace, for wisdom, power,
To view the world today through love-filled eyes,
To patient be, understanding, gentle, wise:
To see beyond what seems to be, and know
Thy children as Thou knowest them. And so
Make deaf my ears to aught that is unkind
Let only thoughts that bless dwell in my mind.
Let me so kindly be so full of cheer
that all I meet may feel Thy presence near.
O, clothe me in Thy beauty, this I pray,
Let me reveal Thee, Lord, through all the day.
The righteous will inherit the earth and
dwell forever upon it. The mouth of the
righteous man utter wisdom, and his
tongue speaks justice.

O Lord my God,
Teach my heart this day where and how to see you,
Where and how to find you.
You have made me and remade me,
And you have bestowed on me
All the good things I possess,
And still I do not know you.
I have not yet done that
For which I was made.
Teach me to seek you,
For I cannot seek you
Unless you teach me,
Or find you
Unless you show yourself to me.
Let me seek you in my desire,
Let me desire you in my seeking.
Let me find you by loving you,
Let me love you when I find you.
St. Anselm (1033-1109)
Italian philosopher, theologian,
Archbishop of Canterbury
When spirituality is correctly
understood and active in one’s life:
Faith cannot be diminished
Hope cannot become depression
Charity cannot be stopped
Love cannot become fear
Friendships cannot be broken
Courage cannot be sidelined
Peace cannot be ended
Ones spirit cannot be stifled
The soul cannot become diseased
Eternal life cannot but be with God

Knowledge directs action by teaching us exactly what
to do, showing us which tools to use, and infusing
our actions with enthusiasm and personal relevance.
Action contributes to knowledge by providing a
touchstone, the measure by which we judge the truth
of an idea...So knowledge is stronger when it is
translated into action, and action is stronger when it
is suffused with knowledge. We can only achieve such
integration by recognizing that we were created by one
G-d with one purpose, which is to achieve this harmony
between thought and deed, between body and soul.

And now, the Last Word:
Since God offers to manage our affairs for us,
let us once and for all hand them over to His infinite
wisdom, in order to occupy ourselves only with
Himself and what belongs to Him.
-Jean Pierre de Caussade (1675-1751)
Catholic writer known for his letters of instruction
to the Nuns of the Vistation at Nancy
