Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman, editor of The Religion Network, a multi-faith Web site. This site provides inspirational quotes through an
exploration of a new spiritual theme every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Religion network is offered with the
conviction that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and furthermore, that finding the commonalities
among the world's religions is more healing than pointing up their differences.
Religion as an institution is a precious gift, blessing individuals and uplifting communities. However you choose to
worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.
Dear Readers,
We all know the feeling of not knowing what we don't know until we learn enough
to realize how little we actually know! It takes deep wisdom to discover our
deep ignorance. That's why the first quote on today's site struck me: it is not
until our eyes are opened in the wisdom of the Lord that we are struck dumb
with the realization that our minds are ultimately unable to wrap themselves
around such Majesty.
But does this knowledge leave us in despair? No!
It lifts us into a mystic state so wonderous our hearts tremble in ecstacy!

If He had made the world a complete and utter mystery, we would have no path
to know Him. And if all would fit together like a neat and tidy grandfather clock,
we would not know that there is anything more to know.
So He took His raw, unknowable Will and cloaked it in wisdom, from which He
formed a world. We approach the wisdom only to find ourselves swimming
in an unfathomable ocean of wonders.
Now it is within the mind's grasp to know that no thought can grasp Him.

The power of spiritual forces in the Universe -
how active it is everywhere! Invisible to the
eyes, and impalpable to the senses, it is
inherent in all things, and nothing
can escape its operation.

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding,
Who set its measurements? Since you know,
Or who stretched the line on it?
On what were its bases sunk?
Or who laid its cornerstone,
When the morning stars sang together
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Have you understood the expanse of the Earth?
Tell me, if you know all this.
Where is the way to the dwelling of light?
Who has put wisdom in the innermost being
Or given understanding to the mind?

The Last Word:
This world, after all our science and sciences,
is still a miracle; wonderful, inscrutable, magical
and more, to whosoever will think of it.

After God created the world, He made man and woman.
Then, to keep the whole thing from collapsing,
He invented humor.
