Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

As children of God, we must know that our heavenly Father
possesses everything we need in life, a promise he makes
to us from cover to cover, throughout the Bible...

...God is blessed. He is not frail, impoverished, or impotent. He
has every resource at His disposal, both things seen and unseen.
Nothing lies beyond His ownership. A person or persons may think
they own or control certain resources, but ultimately, it is God who owns
those resources and who has temporarily allowed man to use them.

God is all-powerful. He is fully capable and able in all situations,
at all times, and regardless of circumstance to exert control over
His resources. God has authority over all things. He can and will
do what He says He can and will do when it comes to
blessings and the transfer of wealth.

Excerpted from "Loved by God, The Spiritual Wealth of the Believer"
by T. D. Jakes
Bethany House, 2000

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given you besides. Do not
worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.

Matthew 7: 33-34
New American Bible

The true devotee's heart is always saying,
"My Lord, my Lord, I do not want to become
ensnared in the delusory drama of Thy creation.
I want no part of it except to help in establishing
Thy temple in the souls of men. My heart, my soul, my
body and mind -- everything belongs to Thee." Such
devotion reaches God. That devotee knows God.

Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952)
Indian yogi and guru

"Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your
life-span? Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from
the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin.
But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor
was not clothed like one of them."

Matthew 6: 27-29
New American Bible

I do not pray for success. I ask for faithfulness.

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997)
Albanian-born Roman Catholic nun

He who is kind and helpful to his neighbors,
he will find that God will increase his wealth.

Ali Raza (765-818)
Seventh descendant of the prophet Muhammed
From "A Rosary of Islamic Readings"

You become a person only when you are capable of
standing open to all the gifts which are prepared for you.

Henri Nouwen (1932-1966)
Dutch priest and prolific author

We have to go beyond the rational mind and the ego.
As long as you are in your rational mind, you are
still in the sphere of the ego, and that limits
you; eventually, it imprisons you.

Bede Griffiths (1906-1993)
aka Swami Dayananda
Benedictine monk who lived in ashrams in South India

And now, the Last Word:

Mankind must connect to the God of all riches
to truly enjoy -- and to avoid being controlled
and owned by -- material wealth.

T. D. Jakes (1957-       )
Pastor of a non-denominational
megachurch in Dallas, Texas

Bonus Quote:

I will stick to Christ as a burr to a topcoat.

Katharina von Bora (1499-1552)
German Catholic nun who became the wife of Martin Luther
