And the Last Word is just a joke.

Joy can be real only if people look upon their life as a service, and have a definite
object in life outside themselves and their personal happiness.

    --Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy (1828-1910)
Russian novelist, Christian anarchist, philosopher and moral thinker.

LAUGHTER is the shortest distance between two people.

    --Victor Borge (1909-2000)

        And now, the Last Word:

A woman went to the Post Office to buy stamps for her Christmas cards.
"What denomination?" asked the clerk. "Oh, good heavens! Have we come to this?"
said the woman. "Well, give me 50 Catholic and 50 Baptist ones."

--Pastor Jim Patrick, Salt and Light, Indianola, IA

    Today's Prayer:
The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.

                                                                                                                                        --Zephaniah 3:17

And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare
feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
                                           --Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931)
Born in Lebanon, Gibran was an American  philosopher, novelist and poet.

A sense of humor is...needed armor. Joy in one's heart and some laughter
on one's lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.

American journalist and author, Sidey worked for
Life and Time magazines.

A Jewish boy in grade school
    was listening to his Hebrew
    teacher quoting the Shema.

"The L-rd our G-d is One,"
    the teacher declared.

    "When will He be two?"
    the youngster asked.

    A confirmation student was
    asked to list the Ten
    Commandments in any order.
    He wrote,
    "3, 6, 1, 8, 4, 5, 9, 2, 10, 7."
