Welcome To The Religion Network!

I'm Lisa Bowman, editor of The Religion Network, a multifaith Web site. We provide inspirational
quotes by exploring a new theme every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This site is offered in the
conviction that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and furthermore, that finding the
commonalities among the world's religions is more healing than pointing up their differences.

Religion as an institution is precious gift, blessing individuals and uplifting communities.
However you choose to worship, I hope this site enhances your journey.

On Today's Theme:

Truth is awe-inspiring. Once truth enters one's heart, its power
is so transformative that perhaps "Truth" as it describes God
should be classified a verb rather than a noun.

Divine Truth is the destruction of all lies, big and small, but beyond
that, it is the eternal reality. All that is holy is real. In God's Truth is
our protection, our salvation, our peace and our holy transformation.

And that's real truth.

- Lisa Bowman

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

Psalm 25:4-5
The Holy Bible
New International Version

Jesus then said..."If you continue in my word,
you are truly my disciples, and you wil know
the truth, and the truth will make you free."

John 8:31-32
The Holy Bible

I cannot explain...the truth that darts like a flash of lightning
into the soul of man and changes his whole life. Yet here is
Paul, and here is Augustine, and here is Francis of Assisi,
and here is -- well, you can fill in the names you know.

John A. Redhead
Author of "Putting Your Faith to Work"

Great truths are felt before they are expressed.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955)

They who know the truth are not equal to those who love it,
and they who love it are not equal to those who delight in it.

Confucius (6th century BC)
Chinese social philosopher
From "Analects"

Whoever sits in the refuge of the Most High,
he shall dwell in the (protective) shade of the Almighty.
I will say of Hashem, "(He is) my refuge and my fortress,
my God, I will trust in Him."

For He will deliver you from the ensnaring trap, from
devastating pestilience. With His pinion He will cover
you, and beneath His wings you will be protected;
His truth is shield and armor.

Psalm 91: 1-4
The Stone Edition Tanach

Absolute truth is indestructible.
Being indestructible, it is eternal.

Confucius (6th century BC)
Chinese social philosopher
  From "The Doctrine of Mean"

...and now,
The Last Word:

That is real which never changes.

Lao Tzu (6th century BC)
Philosopher of ancient China

Random Bonus Quote:

Words are things, and a small drop of ink,
falling like dew upon a thought,
produces that which makes thousands,
perhaps millions, think.

Lord Byron (1788-1824)
American educator and poet
