Welcome To The Religion Network!

I'm Lisa Bowman, editor of The Religion Network, a multifaith Web site. We provide inspirational
quotes by exploring a new theme every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This site is offered in the
conviction that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and furthermore, that finding the
commonalities among the world's religions is more healing than pointing up their differences.

Religion as an institution is precious gift, blessing individuals and uplifting communities.
However you choose to worship, I hope this site enhances your journey.

On Today's Theme:

Sometimes gratitude is as quiet as a reflective smile.

Sometimes gratitude fills our heart so full there's no
place for it to go but into tears spilling from our eyes.

Whenever we close our eyes to pause in gratitude,
a sweet perfume floats from our hearts. It circles the
globe and then rises to heaven, where the angels carry
it as a worthy, holy offering to God. And they rejoice.

- Lisa Bowman

A grateful heart a garden is,
Where there is always room
For every lovely, Godlike grace
To come to perfect bloom.

A grateful heart a fortress is,
a staunch and rugged tower,
Where God's omnipotence, revealed,
Girds man with mighty power.

A grateful heart a temple is,
A shrine so pure and white,
Where angels of His presence keep
Calm watch by day or night.

Grant then, dear Father-Mother God,
Whatever else befall,
This largess of a grateful heart
That loves and blesses all.

...and now,
The Last Word:

Oh, the Lord is good to me,
And so I thank the Lord
For giving me the things I need
The sun, and the rain, and the apple seed.
The Lord is good to me.
