Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

May the power of God this day enable me,
the nakedness of God disarm me,
the beauty of God silence me,
the justice of God give me voice,
the integrity of God hold me,
the desire of God move me,
the fear of God expose me to the truth,
the breath of God give me abundant life.

Author of "All Desires Known"

This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth,
but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to
stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me
to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if
I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly. Make these words
more than words, and give me the Spirit of Jesus. Amen.

From the Book of Common Prayer, 1979

All that came into being...

...all the created worlds and all the ethereal entities that live
in them, even the worlds that are mere emanations without
tangible substance, even the worlds of thought and beyond
to the realms of infinite light that preceded Creation...

...all this came to be only as a result of the thought of you,
the earthly being, struggling in a world that only an
infinitesimal glimmer of G-dliness has reached in its
purity, bringing light where light could not be.

And so it follows that with one simple act of beauty, all
those worlds and angels and realms of light become
liberated and elevated and reciprocate with a burst of
illumination into our lowly world.

That is why the entire creation can be transformed
with one simple, sincere deed.

Never underestimate the power of light.

The wisdom of the Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902-1994)
Prominent Hasidic rabbi of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement
Words and condensation by Tzvi Freeman

We are not human beings having a spiritual
experience. We are spiritual beings
having a human experience.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955)
French philosopher, paleontologist and Jesuit priest

And now, the Last Word:

If what we are now has been the result of our
own past actions, it certainly follows that
whatever we wish to be in future can be
produced by our present actions; so
we have to know how to act.

Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902)
Founder of the Ramakrishna
Order of Monks
