|Welcome To The Religion Network!
I'm Lisa Bowman. The Religion Network is an interfaith web site providing inspiration, quotes and religious resources. This Home Page is changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You are warmly
invited to read every quote posted for each theme, or simply to read those that interest you. They are
offered in the belief that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and that finding the commonality
in religions is more important than pointing up the differences. Religion is precious gift that blesses the
individual and uplifts the community. However you worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. Let
us meet regularly and build a spiritual network. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.
If you want to have a spiritual life you must unify your life.
A life is either all spiritual or not spiritual at all. No man can
serve two masters. Your life is shaped by your desires.
...To live in the spirit is to live for a God in Whom we believe,
but Whom we cannot see. To desire this is therefore to renounce
the desire of all that can be seen. To possess Him Who cannot be
understood is to renounce all that can be understood. To rest
in Him Who is beyond all created rest, we renounce
the desire to rest in created things.

Today God, help me become willing to let go
of old beliefs and feelings that may be
hurting me. Gently take them from me and
replace them with new beliefs and feelings.

The kingdom of my mind is begrimed with ignorance.
By steady rains of diligence in self-discipline may I
remove from my cities of spiritual carelessness
the ancient debris of delusion.
Renunciation is not negative but positive. It isn't the giving up
of anything but misery. One should not think of renunciation
as a path of sacrifice. Rather it is a divine investment, by
which our few cents of self-discipline will yield a million
spiritual dollars. Is it not wisdom to spend the golden
coins of our fleeting days to purchase Eternity?

And now, the Last Word:
Then the Lord will guide you always and give
you plenty even on the parched land. He will
renew your strength, and you shall be like a
watered garden, like a spring whose
water never fails.
