It matters not what be thy lot,
So Love doth guide;
For storm or shine, pure peace is thine,
And of these stones, or tyrants' thrones,
God able is
To raise up seed — in thought and deed —
To faithful His.
Aye, darkling sense, arise, go hence!
Our God is good.
False fears are foes — truth tatters those,
Love looseth thee, and lifteth me,
Ayont hate's thrall:
There Life is light, and wisdom might,
And God is All.
The centuries break,
the earth-bound wake,
Who doth His will — His likeness still --
Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910)
Founder of Christian Science
God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.
C. S. Lewis

Our real blessings often appear to us in the shape of pains, losses and disappointments; but let us have patience and we soon shall see them
in their proper figures.
Joseph Addison (1672-1719)
English Essayist, Poet, Dramatist and Statesman
Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope
that if you just show up and try to do the right thing,
the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work:
You don't give up.
Anne Lamott (1954- )

The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.
New International Version
Each time a swarm of worries invades your mind,
refuse to be affected; wait calmly while seeking the remedy.
Spray the worries with the powerful chemical of your peace.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence,
so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in
our time of need.
Hebrews 4: 16
Sometimes -- especially when we are suffering --
the only thing we can do is approach the throne of grace, as we
have been invited, and kneel in silence before our God.
We may do so even when we can't put two words together in prayer.
The Bible promises mercy and grace in those times of distress. His favor
wraps around our shoulders like a warm blanket, and His Spirit prays for
us in words beyond our comprehension. Step into that throne room
right now, and experience intimacy with your God.
Joni Eareckson Tada (1949- )
Prolific Christian author; quadriplegic from a 1967 diving accident
Excerpted from "31 Days Toward Intimacy with God"
Multnomah Publishers, 2005
And now, the Last Word:
And know that a person needs to traverse a very, very
narrow bridge, but the fundamental and most important
principle is to have no hesitation or fear at all.
Rabbi Nachman of Breslov (1772-1810)
Founder of the Breslov Hasidic dynasty
When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
