Dear Readers,

To enjoy something is to take delight in it. Enjoyment requires action
on our part! We can't move like slugs and wait for enjoyment to strike;
it's not something one can put on like a sweater. To enjoy life, we have
to be fully present in each moment; otherwise, how is it possible to even
notice beauty and blessings? Enjoying God's blessings makes us happy.

When we enjoy His beauty and blessings, we make God happy, too.
He desires us to glorify Him with sheer enjoyment. Funny how He
lifts us up when we humble ourselves to acknowledge what has
been created by the Omnipotent One! We honor Him thus.

Hedonism is not the enjoyment of life - it's the avoidance of  real life.
True enjoyment bursts onto our life's stage in the mirroring of the
gracious love of the Lord back towards heaven with our joy, our
our service to others, our gratitude, our steadfast faithfulness.

The enjoyment of God above all else is the deepest way that
God's glory is reflected back to him. The enjoyment of God
terminates on God alone and is not performed as a means
to anything else. It is the deepest reverberation in the
heart of man of the value of God's glory.

Reformed Baptist minister and author

The root of joy is gratefulness...

____________

O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit.
Purify my heart. Illumine my powers.
I lay all my affairs in Thy hand.
Thou art my Guide and my Refuge.
I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved;
I will be a happy and joyful being.
O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety,
nor will I let trouble harass me.
I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life.
O God! Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself.
I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord.

Abdu'l-Bahá (1844-1921)
Eldest son of the founder of Bahá'í faith

The Last Word:

Be happy. It's one way of being wise.
