Welcome To The Religion Network!

I'm Lisa Bowman, editor of The Religion Network, a multi-faith Web site. This site provides inspirational quotes through an
exploration of a new spiritual theme every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Religion network is offered with the
conviction that inspiration can be found in all spiritual faiths, and furthermore, that finding the commonalities
among the world's religions is more healing than pointing up their differences.

Religion as an institution is a precious gift, blessing individuals and uplifting communities. However you choose to
worship, I hope this site enhances your journey. If you'd like to know my story, click on biography.

Book of Matthew, Book of Psalms, Book of I Corinthians, T. D. Jakes, Mary Baker Eddy

Dear Readers,

My friend Nan has such a way with words. She wrote to me a few days ago:
"Prayer is an intimate conversation with the most powerful friend in the universe."
Not sure I can really add anything to that. It did awaken in me, though, a most
secure feeling of knowing we can lean on God with all our weight, with a million
problems and worries, with all our failings, with anything else we can dream up,
and He will smile and cradle us in arms at once mighty beyond our imaginations
yet more tender than a baby's cheek. Praise and glory to our all-powerful Ally!

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of
heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy
and my burden light."

Matthew 11:28-30
New American Bible

Toward the faithful you are faithful;
to the honest you are honest;
You, Lord, give light to my lamp;
my God brightens the darkness about me.
With you I can rush an armed band,
with my God to help I can leap a wall.
God's way is unerring;
the Lord's promise is tried and true;
he is a shield for all who trust in him.

Psalm 18:26, 29-31
New American Bible

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart
of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

- I Corinthians 2:9

Experiences in our lives break up the ground of our souls. Sometimes
the Lord puts a little fertilizer on us. And for what purpose? So that
the harvest that is already resident in the seed will begin to take
root, grow, and burst forth!

When we go through a crisis time in our walk with the Lord, we don't
need to go out and look for faith, grace, strength, or any other spiritual
blessing. We have them already residing within us. What we need to learn
in our walk with the Lord is how to access and walk in what is already there.
We must become aware that there isn't another believer on this earth
who possesses more of God than we possess right now...

Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.

To those leaning on the sustaining
