Welcome To The Religion Network!

Doubt sees the obstacles;
Faith sees the way.
Doubt sees the darkest night;
Faith sees the day.
Doubt dreads to take a step;
Faith soars on high.
Doubt questions, "Who believes?"
Faith answers, "I."

Oh, if everyone would see as I have seen, no one
would be afraid! Everyone would love
God wildly,
not from fear but from passion...I see Justice (more
than anything else) clothed in Love. My heart soars,
knowing that Love and Justice walk hand in hand! For
God completely understands our weaknesses, knows
perfectly well how fragile human nature is.
So why should I be afraid?

St. Therese de Lisieux (1873-1897)
Excerpted from "Conversations with Therese of Lisieux"
by Jacques Gauthier
Liguori, 2001

People are afraid of joy. They are afraid they'll
get out of hand and lose control.

These people haven't experienced real joy --
the joy that comes from doing something
G-dly and beautiful with all your heart. The
fact is, there is nothing that will lift you
higher. Where there is that joy, the Divine
Presence can enter. Where there is that
joy, there are no pits to fall into, and all
obstacles evaporate into thin air.

...Let us act spontaneously, for each spontaneous
action is the expression of our expanding conscious-
ness, the result of our heart's preconceived ideals,
the result of our life's preconceived light and the
result of our soul's preconceived goal. Action is
perfect when it is of God-inspiration and for God-
manifestation...Again, action for action's sake is
not and cannot be the right thing. Action has to
be for God's sake...Each action is God's Song here
on earth for God-manifestation and there in Heaven
for God-satisfaction. Each action on earth is God's
Dance for humanity's eternal progress and eternal
self-transcendence...Each action in Heaven is a
new creation and the constant fulfillment of an
ever-growing, ever-glowing, ever-satisfying
and ever-satisfied God.

Sri Chimnoy
Excerpted from a speech given at the
Chapel of the Church Center for the U.N.

And now, the Last Word:

It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird:
It would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn
to fly while remaining an egg. We are like
eggs at present. And you cannot go on
indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent
egg. We must be hatched or go bad.

C. S. Lewis (1898-1963)
