        And now, the Last Word:

    Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek,
    but a means by which we arrive at that goal.

    There is a river, the streams
    whereof make glad the city
    of God, the holiest dwelling-
    place of the Most High.

    God is in the midst of her,
    she shall not be moved;
    God shall help her, at the
    approach of morning.

    Nations were in tumult,
    kingdoms were moved;
    He uttered His voice, the
    earth melted.

    HaShem of hosts is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our high
    tower. Selah

    Come, behold the works of
    HaShem, who hath made
    desolations in the earth.

    He maketh wars to cease unto
    the end of the earth; He breaketh
    the bow, and cutteth the spear in
    sunder; He burneth the chariots
    in the fire.

    'Let be, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.'

    --Psalms 46:4-10
    Tanakh (Jewish Publication society, 1917)

    Prayer for Peace
    Oh God, lead us from the unreal to the Real. Oh God, lead us from darkness to
    light. Oh God, lead us from death to immortality. Shanti, Shanti, Shanti unto all.
    Oh Lord God almighty, may there be peace in celestial regions. May there be
    peace on earth. May the waters be appeasing. May herbs be wholesome, and
    may trees and plants bring peace to all. May all beneficent beings bring peace
    to us. May the Vedic law propagate peace all through the world. May all things
    be a source of peace to us. And may they peace itself, bestow peace on all, and
    may that peace come to me also.   --Hindu

When two elephants fight, it is the grass that gets trampled.
When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.
Peace is costly, but it is worth the expense.
