You and I may take hold at any time upon the justice, the
mercy, the faithfulness, the wisdom, the long-suffering, the
tenderness of God, and we shall find every attribute of the
Most High to be, as it were, a great battering-ram with
which we may open the gates of heaven.

Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892)
British Reformed Baptist preacher known
as the "Prince of Preachers"

Thus said Hashem, Your Redeemer and the One
Who has formed you from the womb; I am Hashem,
Who has made everything; Who spread out the
heavens by Myself, and firmed the earth of My
own accord; Who abrogates the omens of the
stargazers and makes fools of the astrologers;
Who makes wise men retreat and makes their
knowledge foolish; Who confirms the words of
His servant, and fulfills the counsel of His

Isaiah 44: 24-26

The  divine ... is infinite consciousness: the totality, the
source, the spirit, the Tao, God, the ground of being,
the ultimate reality, the ultimate mystery, the nameless
one, Yahweh, Allah .... there are countless other names
for this being. This infinite awareness has a nature, an
inner reality that expresses the unlimited mystery of
the divine. The divine is boundless compassion in
itself, and this quality governs its relations with all
other beings. This compassion is pure sensitivity, an
eternal and total capacity to understand. Divine
consciousness possesses complete understanding.

Excerpted from "The Mystic Heart," by Wayne Teasdale
New World Library, 2001

I feel Him percolating through my heart, as through
all hearts, through the pores of the earth, through
the sky, through all created things. He is the eternal
motion of joy. He is the mirror of silence in which
all creation is reflected.

Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952)

Founder of the Self Realization Fellowship

The divine, in its knowing, is not confined to
successive acts of cognition, as human beings
are. It knows everything, always, in one simple
cognitive act. To God, everything is present in
the eternal now. All things are simultaneous to
the divine consciousness, and nothing escapes
its awareness. Everything is part of an undivided
wholeness where each being, or each conscious
spirit, reflects the totality. The divine knows
the totality in each part, much like a hologram.
God knows the totality of Himself, and we can
glimpse it through His awareness.

From "The Mystic Heart," by Wayne Teasdale

And now the Last Word:

Then run, faithful souls, happy and

tireless, keep up with your beloved who

marches with giant strides from one end

of heaven to the other. Nothing is hidden

from his eyes. He walks alike over the

smallest blade of grass, the tallest cedars,

grains of sand or rocky mountains.

Wherever you go he has gone before.

Only follow him and you will find him everywhere.

Jean Pierre de Caussade (1675-1751)
From "The Sacrament of the Present Moment"
